The objective was the creation of a tool that could fulfill many roles. It is excellent for limbing, the steel collar helps facilitate light splitting and the long handle enables enough power to fell trees. The hickory handle is 15 inches (38 cm) long. The overall weight is 1 pound, 5 ounces (590 gm). The face of the axe is 2.5 inches (6.4 cm) across, with a slight curvature. The blade is very sharp.
