“Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads.”

-Henry David Thoreau, Walden

Luke's Bushcraft issued a 30 second flint and steel challenge. I decided to give it a try.

I used my steel striker, a piece of chert, charcloth and Poplar bark tinder. The key to getting flame is getting enough sparks on the charcloth quick enough. The first few seconds are crucial!

I ended up with a few seconds to spare!

"Fire is the most tolerable third party." - Henry David Thoreau
